‘Bringing Food To Life’
Jo is passionate about food and this love of food is rooted in her heritage; Jo’s Italian family who ‘live to eat’, start planning dinner after breakfast and have worked in restaurants and bakeries all their lives. Jo’s British Mother and Grandmother baked wonderful, traditional cakes, pastries and puddings every day. Jo feels privileged to be part of such a talented family of cooks. Jo has also worked alongside chefs in the hotel and catering industry, ran a cake business, completed a patisserie course at Ashburton Cookery School and attained qualifications in both cookery and nutrition. All of this has given Jo a deep of appreciation of food with the enthusiasm and ability to create unique recipes.
Jo has spent a large part of her life as a designer, creating from raw materials in their various shapes and forms. As a designer and through her experiences of food, Jo has learned that food is the ultimate raw material, as it has the ability to stimulate all of our senses. The strength of good food photography lies in the visual. However, Jo’s deep understanding of food strives to elevate it to something more, imagining a story and atmosphere, to ‘bring the food to life’.
